Mathias Kiep has been TUI Group's Chief Financial Officer since October 2022. He joined TUI in 2011 and was most recently the Group Director Controlling, Corporate Finance & Investor Relations. In this position, he played a key role in the Group's Corona core team in implementing the stabilisation measures, the Group's financial management and planning, and the steps to reduce debt and strengthen the balance sheet.

Previously, as Managing Director/CFO, Mathias Kiep was responsible for the finance division of TUI Deutschland, which bundles TUI's tour operators in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. In his operational responsibility, he helped shape the successful transformation of the tour operator business in TUI's Central Region.

Before being appointed Chief Financial Officer of TUI Germany, Mathias Kiep was Group Director Group Reporting & M&A from 2014 to 2017. From 2013 to 2014, he played a key role in shaping the merger of TUI AG and the British TUI Travel Plc as Group Director Strategy. In 2011, he joined TUI as Head of Strategic Controlling.

He has extensive capital market and transaction experience. Prior to joining TUI, he was a Principal at Greenhill & Co. from 2006 to 2011, and before that a Vice President at BNP Paribas Corporate Finance. He started his career at Lazard.

Mathias Kiep holds a degree in business administration. He studied at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as part of Commerzbank's training-integrated study programme, as well as in Atlanta/USA and Shanghai/China.

He is married and has three children.
