We want to help to fill the sustainability skills gap in the tourism industry with the TUI Sustainability Academy – a digital learning platform for all, including our colleagues, partners and anybody working in tourism. We want to give people the opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills so they can actively contribute to driving the sustainable transformation.

The global sustainability challenges and opportunities ahead can only be met through joint action. We believe everyone can contribute – whether that is our colleagues doing their bit at work or in their personal life. We want to give our people the knowledge and skills to become sustainability changemakers.

One way we are doing this is through the digital ‘TUI Sustainability Academy’ which offers insights into a wide range of sustainability topics, both in the tourism industry and beyond, background to TUI projects, and tips on how to have a more sustainable lifestyle. Our colleagues can learn about topics from energy & fuels, to social impacts and the circular economy. Within the Academy we have colleagues sharing their knowledge, such as a Technical Director from one of our hotels explaining how the seawater desalination plant works. We are launching the first stage of the Academy and it will continue to grow and evolve alongside the Sustainability Agenda.

In the future the TUI Sustainability Academy will also be made available to all of our partners so that we can support the sustainable transformation of numerous small or medium-sized hotels and other businesses all over the world. Hotel partners will be able to learn, for example, how to save energy or avoid food waste. We have gained a lot of experience here in the hotels operated by TUI, which we will share. Working together for more sustainability also means sharing experiences. The long-term goal is to make it an open access platform to help upskill and reskill anyone working in the tourism industry.
