Working from home has become increasingly important in recent months - not only at TUI but also at numerous other companies. With this in mind, employees from the Netherlands and Belgium have developed the ‘TUI Workation’ concept to specifically combine work and vacation. Workation guests work in an inspiring environment, at a well-equipped workplace. After a productive working day, they can enjoy the relaxed holiday feeling and draw energy from the new environment.
Successful pilot project at TUI BLUE in the Algarve
The first pilot trip went to the Algarve in Portugal at the end of September. Employees from seven different Dutch and Belgian companies tested the work at the TUI BLUE Falésia hotel in Olhos d'Agua. Therefore, the hotel rooms were equipped with ergonomic desks and office chairs as well as high-performance internet. After work, the participants were able to enjoy the holistic sports and relaxation programme as well as the sea view and the culinary highlights of the TUI BLUE hotel. The feedback from the participants was very positive, so that TUI is now further expanding its range of services.
German guests can also book a workplace under the sun: The premium club brand ROBINSON offers hotel rooms as home offices, too. The programme will start at the ROBINSON Club Quinta da Ria in Portugal. Other resorts, such as the ROBINSON Clubs Jandia Playa (Fuerteventura) or Nobilis (Turkey) are to follow. The rooms selected are located in quiet area and will be furnished according to the wishes of the guests and provide the perfect setting for a smooth workflow. If required, fully equipped conference rooms as well as additional technology and IT support are available for a fee. After work - in compliance with a comprehensive Covid19 hygiene concept – guests can improve their work-life balance: enjoy the lunch break with a delicious meal from the WellFood® buffet or a few tee-offs on the golf course in the evening. Those who would like to bring their family can also benefit from the child care at the club.
TUI is successively expanding the offer for other countries and hotels in order to offer even more guests the opportunity to work in inspiring places.
