TUI’s hotel growth continues

TUI BLUE starts the summer season with three new hotels.

TUI BLUE is continuing its announced growth path. At the start of the 2022 summer season, two popular hotels, TUI BLUE Xanthe in Turkey and TUI BLUE Tarida Beach in Ibiza, joined the portfolio of the brand. Last week, the third new addition on Mallorca was also officially opened.

TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar awaits guests with seven restaurants, five pools and numerous swim-up rooms. Typical for the Sensatori label, holidaymakers can enjoy both a family area and an adults-only area. The latter is a completely new build, but also the existing family area of the hotel has received brand new facilities for childcare. The TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar is also outstanding in terms of sustainability: Energy is sourced from its own photovoltaic plant and the pools are heated with biomass.

With the three new additions, TUI BLUE is following the group's so-called asset-right strategy. This follows the rationale that TUI does not necessarily need to own the hotels in order to offer guests a unique hotel experience.

Growth in new regions

There is further news on the long-haul region: the TUI BLUE Nam Hoi is now open to international guests. The first hotel in Vietnam could only welcome local guests due to the pandemic and is now happy to welcome holidaymakers from all over the world after the opening of the country.

In order to open up further holiday destinations for the brand, TUI BLUE has set up an international development team. Erik Friemuth, Managing Director TUI Hotels & Resorts, and Wesam Okasha, Global Head of Business Development TUI BLUE, explained the details of TUI BLUE's growth plans in a LinkedIn Live Session (a recording can be found here). The focus is on Southeast Asia, China, Africa and the Middle East. An important driver for the future growth strategy are international partnerships in which TUI BLUE hotels are operated either under management contracts or via franchisees. The aim is to become the world's leading leisure hotel brand.
