Hotel reopenings in Mauritius and Egypt

Popular TUI Group hotels in Mauritius and Sharm El Sheik are welcoming guests again

Thanks to the opening of the borders, RIU's resort in Mauritius is able to welcome international guests again. Both hotels, the Riu Le Morne and the Riu Creole, are thus opening their doors again after having been closed for over 18 months. Holidaymakers relax here under the highest hygiene and safety standards on the Le Morne peninsula, whose characteristic mountain is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 4-star Hotel Riu Creole with 313 rooms already reopened on 1 October and is suitable for a holiday with the entire family. On 29 October, the adults-only hotel Hotel Riu Le Morne with 218 rooms will follow. With the resumption of hotel operations, a total of 96 hotels are now open out of the 100 RIU hotels worldwide.

British guests return to Sharm El Sheik

The TUI Sensatori Resort Sharm El Sheikh has always been one of the most popular hotels for British holidaymakers in Egypt. However, following the crash of a Russian plane in October 2015, direct flights between the UK and Sharm El Sheikh were suspended. Shortly after security measures were improved and flights resumed, the pandemic brought travel to a standstill. After six years, the 5-star resort now returns as a concept hotel.

At the opening last weekend, the hotel team was particularly pleased that, in addition to the many regular guests, numerous holidaymakers were discovering the Egyptian destination for the first time. By merging with the global lifestyle brand of the TUI Group, the hotel complex will be managed as TUI Blue Sensatori Coral Sea in future.
