As of today, the TUI Group is listed in the OTC segment at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and in the premium segment of the London Stock Exchange, the FTSE 100 index. The shares will also remain listed at the Hanover Stock Exchange to provide the opportunity for German investors to continue to trade their TUI shares in euros via Xetra.
The TUI Group was formed in mid-December 2014 from the merger between TUI AG and TUI Travel PLC. In the wake of the merger, the Group decided to apply for a primary listing of its shares on the London Stock exchange. As the British stock exchange rules do not permit a secondary quotation in the regulated market of a foreign stock exchange, the TUI Group left MDAX with effect from 31 March 2015.
The TUI Group is the world’s number one integrated tourism group operating in around 180 destinations worldwide. The company is domiciled in Germany. The TUI Group’s share is listed in the FTSE 100 index, the leading index of the London Stock Exchange. In financial year 2013/14, the TUI Group recorded turnover of €18.7bn and an operating result of €869m. The Group employs around 77,000 people in 130 countries.
