Cancún, Mexico, 30 November 2025: After the great success of the TUI Socca Champions League in October 2025 in Rethymno, Crete, the International Socca Federation (ISF) and TUI continue their multi-year partnership with the TUI Socca World Championship in the beautiful Caribbean holiday destination Cancún, Mexico. Socca is the most played sports in the world and famous for being inclusive, including free entrance to the stadium for everyone. A major difference to other football tournaments.

The opening of the international tournament has been celebrated with a festive ceremony on 29 November with representatives from the International Socca Federation (ISF), the Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, the Mayor of Cancún Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña and representatives from TUI. In the first game, the Mexican national team won against Belgium 3:0.

TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel commented: “We are very happy to connect tourism and Socca, bringing tourists and locals together in an electrifying atmosphere in the most beautiful holiday destinations around the world. The atmosphere in the TUI pop-up stadium is incredible. The TUI Socca World Championship embodies what TUI stands for – shared experiences, diversity and unforgettable moments that connect people from all over the world.”

"From the kickoff of the first match, the mood on the pitch and on the stands with fans cheering and celebrating has been amazing. This was once again proof that sport and travel together can create magical moments full of joy, respect and shared passion. That’s what football is all about and what we aim to further promote through our partnership with TUI", said Thanos Papadopoulos, CEO of the International Socca Federation.

Around the pop-up stadium, a fan zone area invites fans and players alike to relax between the matches. In addition to the opportunity to get something to eat and drink, play foosball or just enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery of Cancún, there are also TUI stands where representatives inform visitors about TUI's excursions and offers in the region.

TUI is also taking the opportunity to inform locally about current job offers, aiming to further increase local hiring and a closer integration with the communities where it operates. TUI as well as its hotel joint ventures RIU and Royalton are sizeable employers in the region for incoming tourism, at the same time TUI offers an increasing amount of holidays for Mexican customers.

Further Socca tournaments for 2026 – including in Türkiye and Portugal – are already planned and will be announced shortly. An up-to-date overview of the TUI Socca tournaments is available at soccafederation.com
