TUI UK&I has been nominated as Diversity Team of the Year, celebrating the company's comprehensive approach to embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout its business operations and culture.
Guided by its global ‘come as you are’ culture, TUI has built an environment where every colleague feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. This commitment is backed by a DEI & Wellbeing Charter with strong leadership accountability, 13 Employee Network Groups (ENGs), a dedicated Wellbeing & Inclusion Lead (Miranda Simms), a DEI Ambassador Forum, and a central DEI Hub supporting organisation-wide engagement.
TUI's approach is rooted in colleague insight, gathered through annual engagement surveys, focus groups, live Q&As, and network sessions. This feedback directly shapes the company's priorities and programmes, including targeted training like ‘Inclusion for All’, ‘Inclusive Leader’, and neurodiversity initiatives that equip teams to foster psychological safety.
Beyond internal impact, TUI is influencing the wider travel and tourism industry through partnership, advocacy, and pioneering accessible and neuro-inclusive customer experiences.
Aside from TUI UK&I as a company, two members of staff have been nominated for individual awards also.
Miranda Simms, Wellbeing & Inclusion Lead for TUI UK and Ireland, has been nominated in the Head of Diversity, Belonging and Inclusion category, while Andrew Kyte, a Retail Travel Advisor at TUI's Lincoln store, has been nominated as Changemaker of the Year.
Since moving into her role three years ago, Miranda has been pivotal in developing and embedding the company's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategy across all levels of the organisation. Her work has included:
The impact of this strategy has contributed to TUI UK&I’s wider recognition of wellbeing and DE&I, with an 88% colleague pride rating and 10% increase of women in leadership positions*.
In TUI UK&I’s retail estate, Andrew Kyte has championed inclusion since he took on a DEI ambassador role in October 2024 and his achievements include:
Andrew's work has also earned him recognition internally as Regional, Divisional, and Company Inspirational Hero of the Year 2025 at the TUI Retail Awards.
The British Diversity Awards shines a light on the organisations and individuals leading the way in diversity and inclusion. Their nominations are a fantastic recognition of the work Andrew and Miranda do, and every colleague whose dedication continues to shape a more inclusive TUI.
