TUI mourns the loss of Dr. Ralf Corsten

Corporate
Former TUI CEO passes away at the age of 83

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Dr. Ralf Corsten, long-standing CEO of TUI. Dr. Corsten passed away on 7 October 2025, after a short illness, surrounded by his loved ones in his home on Lake Starnberg.

He was a highly respected leader and pioneer whose work has had a lasting impact on our company and on the tourism industry in Germany and Europe.

Before joining the TUI Group, Dr. Corsten made outstanding contributions in the context of German reunification. In 1990, the Treuhandanstalt appointed him to the Executive Board of Deutsche Interhotel AG. He was a key figure in the reorganisation, and subsequent privatisation, of the state-owned hotel group of the former GDR.

Dr. Corsten then made lasting contributions to TUI and laid the foundation for the Group's integrated and international positioning. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Corsten for his strategic direction and extraordinary foresight. His enduring and close connection to TUI was an expression of his loyalty, which we continued to appreciate even decades after he left the company. We were always able to approach him for advice and welcome him at TUI events, such as the opening of the new TUI Campus in Hanover or, most recently, the TUI Global Hotel Awards in Berlin in spring 2025. He remained part of the global TUI family until the end of his life.

We are proud that Dr. Corsten’s name remains closely linked to the history and development of our Group. His legacy will continue to accompany us, and we will forever honour his memory.

We mourn the loss of a truly extraordinary person. We will miss him – as an advisor, companion and friend. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and all those who were close to him.

In remembrance,

Sebastian Ebel
Chairman of the Executive Board of TUI AG
on behalf of all employees
