Hanover, 9 February 2026. – TUI Group is stepping up its commitment to sustainable mobility. Thanks to a new partnership, users of the TUI e-Charge app now have access to 6,300 new charging points throughout Spain – both on the mainland and on the islands – at a very attractive TUI rate. This means that the TUI e-Charge app now offers almost 100.000 charging points in 71 countries.
Other current pilot projects in Spain underscore the country's importance for TUI's sustainability strategy in the area of mobility. For example, fully electric vehicles are currently being tested for TUI tour guides and representatives on Menorca. The focus is on the availability and reliability of the vehicles and e-charging stations on site, which are being tested to meet the requirements of seasonal operation. The conversion of the fleet in Menorca is providing valuable experience for other holiday destinations. The first electric bus in the TUI fleet is also set to be deployed in Spain in 2026. The island of Tenerife was selected for this in an internal selection process. Details will be announced at a later date.
"A comprehensive network of charging stations in Spain is an important building block in providing our guests with clean and affordable energy wherever they travel. There is a good reason why our initiatives for more sustainable mobility are taking place in Spain: Spain shows how quickly such solutions can become reality when politics and business pull together. Spain is now one of the most dynamic e-mobility markets in Europe – thanks to intelligent legislation and incentives," says Sebastian Ebel, CEO of the TUI Group.
With the TUI e-Charge app, TUI offers guests, employees, and partners a uniform, intuitive platform for charging electric vehicles. The app is based on technology from Danish charging specialist Spirii, whose platform forms the backbone of the TUI charging network. Users can find and activate charging points in TUI's own network (e.g., in hotels, travel agencies, and TUI Group office buildings), in the Spirii network, and in major European cities. With the integration of 6,300 charging points in Spain, TUI already offers a growing, internationally usable network.
