RIU receives 86 clients from TUI UK on its return to operations in Jamaica
- This restart is great news for RIU and the destination, whom will once again welcome guests coming from one of its main source markets
RIU Hotels has once again received clients from the United Kingdom in Jamaica thanks to the reactivation of TUI UK's operations in Jamaica this past 22nd of July, which will start with six weekly flights. Since its activity ceased last year with the beginning of the pandemic in March, one of the main source markets for Jamaica had not been able to return to one of its favorite destinations. Now, more than 80 clients from the United Kingdom are enjoying their holidays in the six hotels that RIU has in the country.
“This is great news for the Jamaican tourism sector and of course also for our hotel chain. We have made a great effort to open all our hotel offer in the country and we felt really hardly the lack of our main source markets”, says Niurka García, RIU`s Sales Director in Jamaica. “But now, with the return of the UK guests, we can begin to speak about a full recovery regarding activity. It is, without a doubt, a day to be happy and proud of the work carried out, as well as we must congratulate TUI UK for having reactivated its operations”.
RIU Hotels & Resorts has a total of six hotels in Jamaica: Riu Montego Bay, Riu Palace Jamaica and Riu Reggae, in Montego Bay; Riu Negril and Riu Palace Tropical Bay, in Negril and also the Riu Ocho Rios, located in Ocho Rios. At the moment they are all opened and ready to provide their customers an enjoyable stay. And of course, all of them apply the 17 protocols contained in the Post COVID Manual that the chain has developed jointly with the consulting firm Preverisk, and in course with the established protocols by the destination authorities, to guarantee the safety and well-being of its guests and collaborators.
