Brits can now book a winter break to one of the world’s most famous cities as TUI launches Cairo as its latest city break destination.

Set on the River Nile, Cairo is home to the iconic Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, meaning holidaymakers can tick off true bucket-list sights while soaking up some winter sunshine.

With warm, mild temperatures of around 20 degrees during the winter months, Cairo is perfect for swapping grey skies and cold weather for blue skies and culture, without the long flight times of far-flung destinations.

Holidaymakers can travel to TUI’s latest Egyptian destination from London Heathrow, Manchester and London Gatwick airports, with flights on British Airways, Egyptair and easyJet.

As with all TUI City Breaks, travellers can build a flexible stay to suit them, choosing from a wide range of hotels across Cairo and nearby Giza, with the option to add experiences such as guided tours, Nile cruises and museum visits.

Culture lovers can explore the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of ancient artefacts including treasures from King Tutankhamun’s tomb, as well as historic sites such as the Hanging Church, one of the oldest Christian churches in Egypt.

There are also lesser-known hidden gems to discover, such as Al-Azhar Park, which a lush green oasis with sweeping views across the city’s historic mosques and medieval skyline; a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle below.
