First TUI SOCCA Women’s Champions League kicks off successfully in Porto
What began as a vision months ago is now a reality: With the TUI SOCCA Women’s Champions League, the International Socca Federation (ISF) has launched the first official European club competition exclusively for women. Eight teams from Hungary, Poland, Spain, Germany, Greece, and Portugal battled for the coveted title and demonstrated that this sport inspires, captivates, and moves people at the highest level.
By choosing Porto as the host city, the decision fell on a vibrant metropolis on the Atlantic coast that symbolizes what TUI associates with sports: extraordinary experiences in fascinating destinations. The Arena Liga Portugal provided the athletes and fans with a first-class setting—professional, atmospheric, and unforgettable.
“The TUI Socca Women’s Champions League has impressively demonstrated how Socca brings cultures together. Socca is passion—and so is travel. Both build bridges between people and cultures. Through our partnership with the International Socca Federation, hundreds of teams are playing in front of enthusiastic fans at the most spectacular locations around the world. With the first TUI Socca Women’s Champions League in Porto, we have also, together with the ISF, sent a strong signal for the empowerment of women in sports,” says Magnus Hüttenberend, who is responsible for sponsorship at TUI
Julia Colter, Event Director of the International Socca Federation, adds: “It was long overdue to give women the visibility they deserve. We are incredibly proud of the level of play demonstrated here in Porto—the quality, the passion, and the dedication of every single team. But one thing is clear: this is just the beginning.”
