When TUI opened its very first hotel in Indonesia last December, it wasn’t just another resort launch - it was the beginning of a new chapter in Bali’s vibrant hospitality scene. Nestled in the heart of Canggu, TUI BLUE Berawa offers guests more than just a place to stay: it’s a gateway to world-class surf, serene beaches, and the island’s rich cultural heritage.
The first TUI hotel in Indonesia opened almost one year ago in December 2024: TUI BLUE Berawa. Located in the south of Bali in Canggu, the hotel is only a few minutes away from Berawa Beach and is surrounded by surf spots, tranquil beaches and cultural attractions, offering a blend of relaxation and adventure.
This Balinese-style resort has 119 stylishly furnished rooms and 14 villas. The rooftop restaurant offers stunning views of the city and sea, as well as a diverse culinary selection, making it the perfect place to unwind, especially at sunset. You can also finish the day with a drink at the pool bar by the infinity pool on the roof terrace.
At our TUI BLUE hotels, our expert chefs specialise in preparing authentic regional dishes. To give you an impression of our 'cultured cuisine', Indra Pranata, the head chef at TUI BLUE Berawa, is sharing his treasured family recipe for Timbungan, a traditional Balinese delicacy that is especially cherished during Galungan celebrations. This year, Galungan took place on 19 November 2025.
This special dish embodies the essence of Balinese culinary heritage. The ingredients are seasoned with fragrant spices and cooked inside fresh bamboo tubes, which are then slow-roasted over a fire to create a rich, smoky flavour. Each serving represents the wisdom of generations of families passed down through time.
Chef Indra brings this nostalgic dish to our table, offering not just a meal but a meaningful piece of his heritage and the warm feeling of being at home at TUI BLUE Berawa.
Whether you’re watching the sun dip below the horizon from the rooftop terrace, savoring Chef Indra’s family recipe for Timbungan, or simply soaking in the laid-back charm of Canggu, TUI BLUE Berawa invites you to experience Bali in a way that feels both authentic and unforgettable. It’s not just a holiday—it’s a journey into culture, cuisine, and connection, all wrapped in the warmth of TUI BLUE hospitality.
