“We are thrilled to see our joint portfolio growing, just ahead of the new and promising summer season. Atlantica is an outstanding and important partner for our hotel development in the Eastern Mediterranean for many years," says Peter Krueger, TUI Group’s Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive Officer Holiday Experiences. "The Nicolaides family and their team create unique and sustainable hotel experiences with Greek and Cypriot hospitality at their core. Customers from all of our source markets flock to the beaches and pools of our partnership and the high numbers of returning guests speaks for itself.”

“Teaming up with TUI for over two decades now, has been real success story. The continuous expansion of new and existing hotels & resorts show our joint commitment to offer our guests from TUI the best holiday experience when arriving to the Eastern Mediterranean,” says Dimitris Nicolaides, CEO of AtlanticaHotels & Resorts. “I am very confident that the just starting 2023 summer season will lift us over 500,000 guests for the first time – an important milestone but also a further proof how popular our destinations Greece and Cyprus have become over the last years.”

The cooperation between TUI and Atlantica Hotels & Resorts started with the exclusive distribution of four hotels. Today, the joint venture of the two companies, founded in 2001, comprises 46 hotels in Greece and Cyprus. The popular travel destinations show recovery of the tourism business, already in 2022 around half a million TUI guests spent their holidays in an Atlantica hotel. The joint venture operates hotels under its own name as well as units under the TUI Blue, TUI Magic Life or TUI Suneo brands.

Atlantica Hotels & Resorts is committed to sustainable development. At this year's TUI Global Hotel Awards 2023, the hotel company was recognized for sustainability innovation. The award was given for their efforts to implement new technology to accelerate sustainable transformation for the company and the industry. A great example being their efforts in the Greek island of Rhodes; where they have invested in the latest solar panel technology, e-mobility for electric cars, a water desalination plant, and for their involvement in the Co-Lab Rhodes.
