The TUI hotel brand RIU has acquired its third hotel in the United States. The Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco is the eighth city hotel of the Riu Plaza line.
The 4-star Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf with 531 rooms is located in one of San Francisco's most famous districts. Due to its popular location not far from Pier 39, the departure point of the ferries to Alcatraz Island and the financial district, the hotel is mainly for holidaymakers, business guests and visitors attending large conventions. The hotel itself has eleven meeting rooms. The Union Square with its numerous shops and art galleries is only a short tram ride away.
With the new hotel in San Franciso, Riu is now present worldwide with eight city hotels. The other hotels are located in Panama, Guadalajara (Mexico), Miami, New York, Berlin, Dublin and Madrid. Three more hotels in London, Toronto and New York are being planned. With the expansion of the hotel chain, RIU is supporting the TUI Group's growth course.
