TUI Group celebrates the debut of its hotel portfolio in Thailand: With the arrival of the first guests and the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, ROBINSON Club Khao Lak opened its doors on 1 November 2017. The club is the first resort in mainland Asia operated by the Group’s own premium club brand.
The existing club, located on the west coast of Thailand, underwent extensive refurbishment over the past few weeks and was redesigned in line with ROBINSON’s latest standards. The property, comprising more than 280,000 square metres, offers direct access to the beach. It is situated amid tropical vegetation. The resort features 320 rooms and villas and has been designed in particular for couples and solo travellers as well as families with children. The new ROBINSON Club will appeal to an international audience: Apart from guests from Germany and Europe, it will also attract guests from Asia and Australia. Guests can look forward to five pools, three speciality restaurants, a Roby Club for children aged three and above, and a wide range of sporting activities, WellFit® and spa offerings.
In forging ahead with its growth strategy, TUI Group is increasingly focusing on hotels in year-round destinations. Apart from the club in Thailand, a further ROBINSON Club will open in the Maldives in November. In December, the Group’s RIU hotel brand will continue its expansion in Mexico by opening the all-inclusive Riu Dunamar hotel in Costa Mujeres close to Cancún.
