TUI opens sixth hotel in the Greek island of Crete

Crete is not only the most popular Greek holiday island among holidaymakers travelling with TUI, but also one of their most popular travel destinations in the world. The world’s leading tourism group has operated in Crete for more than 40 years and is planning to deliver further growth in the island. One of the steps taken towards this goal is the expansion of the Group’s international adults-only brand TUI Sensimar. At the beginning of May, the TUI Sensimar Insula Alba Resort & Spa, situated in the popular holiday island of Crete, opened its doors for the first guests. This marks the expansion of TUI’s product portfolio for guests wishing to spend a child-free getaway in a premium hotel.

Feel-good moments for couples and guests aged 16+

Adult guests will enjoy feel-good moments, in particular thanks to the hotel’s 182 rooms, nearly all of which feature a swim-up pool. The hotel is located in a beachfront setting, separated from the beach by a small promenade. Guests staying at the new hotel can also visit Heraklion, Crete’s largest city with the main port, offering numerous tourist attractions. Alongside a varied animation and entertainment programme, TUI Sensimar Insula Alba Resort & Spa also offers activities on six days a week, including SENSGourmet cooking and cocktail classes for the guests. Adults can spend quality time together and enjoy special feel-good moments in a beautiful setting.

Demand for adults-only hotels is rising. The opening of the new TUI Sensimar Insula Alba Resort & Spa takes the number of Greek hotels of the international hotel concept to twelve. Further openings in Santorini, Zakynthos and Crete will follow in the next few weeks. From Summer 2020, TUI Sensimar Hotels will be rebranded under the flagship TUI Blue hotel brand, continuing to target adult guests as “TUI Blue for Two” hotels.
