Hapag-Lloyd Cruises – Two new ships by 2019

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, wholly-owned TUI Group subsidiary, is regarded as one of the leading providers of luxury and expedition cruises in the German-speaking market. The Hamburg-based shipping line’s fleet currently comprises four ships: EUROPA and EUROPA 2 offer pure luxury. While EUROPA delivers traditional cruises, EUROPA 2 stands for modern, casual luxury. Since their launch, the two ships have been the only cruise ships in the world to have been awarded the prestigious ‘five-stars plus’ ranking by the Berlitz Cruise Guide. The two small expedition cruise ships BREMEN and HANSEATIC with no more than 164 and 182 passengers, respectively, offer their passengers expedition cruises around the world. The ships set out on extraordinary routes to remote regions in the Arctic, Antarctica or Amazon. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ portfolio is complemented by adventure tours aboard the private jet Albert Ballin.

The cruise business is one of the focus areas of TUI’s overall growth roadmap. Therefore, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ fleet will also be expanded and modernised in the medium term: From spring and autumn 2019, the two luxury expedition cruise ships HANSEATIC nature and HANSEATIC inspiration will join the fleet after 20 months of construction.
