The HANSEATIC inspiration, the second of three new expedition ships of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, was christened in the Port of Hamburg on the evening of 11 October 2019. Patron Laura Dekker, the world's youngest single-handed circumnavigator, triggered the mechanism for the traditional champagne bottle from a pontoon specially launched for this purpose. The approximately 230 invited guests experienced the baptism from the Elbe. For the ceremony, the HANSEATIC inspiration became the stage: eleven high-performance beamers projected a 12-minute multimedia show onto the outside of the ship, which took the guests on a virtual journey through the destinations of the expeditions.
