Medal winner in 2019 Sustainability Yearbook

TUI Group has been awarded a Bronze medal and included in the 2019 Sustainability Yearbook published by RobecoSAM, an investment specialist that focusses exclusively on sustainability investing.

The Yearbook showcases the sustainability performance of the world’s largest companies and includes the top 15% of companies in each industry, awarding the best performing firms with Gold, Silver or Bronze class medals. TUI Group is part of the Hotels, Resorts and Cruise Lines category, where 18 companies were evaluated based on a range of criteria covering economic, environmental and social dimensions. TUI has featured in the Sustainability Yearbook for more than 10 years in a row.

Daniel Wild, PhD, Co-CEO RobecoSAM said: “We congratulate TUI Group on its Bronze Award in The Sustainability Yearbook 2019, which showcases the best performing companies among industry peers and in terms of financially material ESG metrics. As the Corporate Sustainability Assessment constantly raises the bar, so the Yearbook remains a highly credible source of corporate sustainability insights. This year it is launched under the SAM brand, and with increased public access to the percentile rankings of all companies.”

This award recognises TUI Group’s commitment to sustainability and the implementation of our Better Holidays, Better World strategy 2015 – 2020. The strategy is built around four core pillars to help shape the future of sustainable tourism, including ambitions to operate Europe’s most carbon-efficient airlines, deliver ten million “greener and fairer“ holidays a year by 2020 and invest ten million Euros per year by 2020 to support good causes and enhance the positive impacts of tourism, using the TUI Care Foundation to support this work.
