RIU grows to 20 hotels in Mexico

The TUI Group hotel brand RIU Hotels & Resorts opened the Riu Palace Baja California at the beginning of December. This is RIU’s third hotel in Los Cabos, its first Adults Only hotel in Baja California and it is the chain’s twentieth hotel in Mexico. The new hotel has, like the recently opened hotel Riu Palace Costa Mujeres, an innovative design with a new layout of spaces and services that lets views of the sea take centre stage and offers a feeling of fusion with the ocean through its pools and water features. In addition, a total of 32 rooms have been elevated, which means that this is one of the hotels with the greatest number of rooms with full sea views (a total of 82).

The hotel is located in El Médano, surrounded by natural scenery, along with RIU’s two other hotels in Baja California: hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and hotel Riu Santa Fe. Guests can visit El Arco, a famous rock formation that is considered an icon of the region. They can also observe wildlife with humpback and grey whales in their migration season.

With this new launch, RIU now has twenty hotels in Mexico, offering a total of almost 12,000 rooms which are spread over various destinations in Mexico. With its hotels TUI SENSATORI Resort Azul Mexico, TUI SENSIMAR Seaside Suite and both Blue Diamond Hotels Hideaway at Royalton Rivierea Cancun, TUI is also represented in Mexico.

The RIU Group has an ambitious expansion plan for the next five years, with a strong commitment to new destinations, especially in Asia and Africa, and large global cities where it plans to open Riu Plaza urban hotels.
