Recognition for TUI Group’s sustainability strategy

TUI Group has been included in the Sustainability Yearbook 2018 published by researcher RobecoSAM. In recognition of its success in implementing its sustainability strategy “Better Holidays, Better World“, the Group has received the Silver Class Sustainability Award 2018. This ranks TUI as one of the world’s most sustainable tourism companies, making an important contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A total of 16 tourism companies were evaluated based on a range of criteria covering economic, environmental and social dimensions.

In 2015, TUI Group adopted its sustainability strategy “Better Holidays, Better World 2015-2020“. One of its goals is to deliver ten million “greener and fairer“ holidays a year by 2020. TUI also aims to operate Europe’s most carbon-efficient airlines and reduce the carbon intensity of its operations by 10% by 2020. The Group will also invest ten million Euros per year by 2020 to support good causes and enhance the positive impacts of tourism, using the TUI Care Foundation to support this work. The annual report on the Group’s progress towards its sustainability strategy is shown here.

The UN General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the UN Sustainable Development Summit held in September 2015. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda aim to achieve fundamental improvements in the living conditions of present and future generations and protect Planet Earth.
