TUI Cruises has won top ratings in fvw’s “Cruise Market 2017” exclusive study for the third consecutive time. The surveyed travel agencies rated 19 ocean and six river cruise lines on the basis of numerous criteria. TUI Cruises scored particularly well in several categories including ‘Quality reliability’ and ‘Value for money’. The travel agencies also awarded good ratings to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and Aida, which were ranked second and third. The results of the study show that travel agencies by far prefer German products while large international brands are increasingly facing difficulties.
Apart from surveying the travel agents, the study also included the creation of a strengths/weaknesses portfolio: According to the respondents, mega-liners with a capacity of up to 7,000 passengers are particularly popular among cruise customers. Nevertheless, the majority of the respondents believe that the use of new environmental technologies constitutes an increasingly important criterion in customers’ purchasing decisions.
