Lots of TUI employees are out there right now cleaning up beaches in holiday destinations. TUI’s environment campaign “Make Holidays Greener” has already achieved excellent results in past years at many destinations all over the world. TUI staff are not just helping the locality and the environment, but involving residents and holidaymakers in the action and backing a strategy defined by the Group.
The figures are impressive: about 1,300 TUI workers have teamed up in the last few years to clean up the beaches and collect some 6,740kg of litter. 56 beaches in 14 countries have been cleared of rubbish. The booty includes 9,362 cigarette ends, 2,042 plastic bottles and 1,424 drinks cans, together with assorted lids, caps, plastic bags and straws.
The “Make Holidays Greener” campaign aims to sharpen everyone’s awareness for the idea that even little things can help to protect the environment – even on holiday.
