TUI opens doors for Thomas Cook employees

  • 25 events in six countries
  • More than 600 Thomas Cook colleagues open doors days
  • Numerous positions open at TUI

The news of Thomas Cook's insolvency has also caused great consternation among the employees of TUI Group. Although competitors in the market, many employees of both companies were friends for many years. The HR division of TUI Destination Experiences, under whose umbrella the TUI Group bundles the business for tours, activities and excursions, has therefore organised open days for its Thomas Cook colleagues in numerous destinations within a very short period of time. At these events, Thomas Cook employees were given the opportunity to find out more about TUI as an employer and about vacancies.

Over the past three weeks, TUI Destination Experiences has held 25 open days in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Bulgaria. The last two events took place today in Faro, Portugal, and Tenerife. The Thomas Cook employees were very interested in the exchange with their TUI colleagues. More than 600 Thomas Cook employees visited the various open days.

"Thomas Cook has many extremely experienced tourism experts who are of course of interest to us," says Annalisa Riches, HR Director TUI Destination Experiences. "We want to grow significantly over the next few years and are therefore looking for excellent specialists, whether in the area of travel reps, childcare experts, or also for digital and technology tasks and management positions. If, on the one hand, we could win Thomas Cook employees for us and, on the other hand, protect colleagues from losing their jobs, we could at least have drawn something positive from Thomas Cook's regrettable insolvency.”

Interested Thomas Cook colleagues can continue to find out about vacancies in the TUI Group on the website www.tuigroup.com.
