RIU presents the new Riu Astoria in Bulgaria

  • The chain presents its first hotel in Golden Sands, a destination considered to be the jewel of the Black Sea
  • It is a 4-star all-inclusive hotel offering a wide range of family entertainment

RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened a new hotel in Bulgaria, the Riu Astoria, a brand new 4-star all-inclusive property that will surprise guests with its modern construction and services. The complex is located in Golden Sands, a destination considered to be the jewel of the Black Sea and one of the pearls of Eastern Europe. Its entertainment programme is designed specifically to attract families. It is the only hotel of the chain in Golden Sands and the sixth in Bulgaria, with properties already established in destinations such as Obzor, Pravets and Sunny Beach.

The Riu Astoria opened on the 26th of April and will be operating during the summer season. It enjoys a privileged location within Bulgaria, just 37 km from Varna airport, in the quiet area of the Golden Sands resort and close to its pedestrian areas, shops, bars and restaurants. The Riu Astoria hotel lies directly on the seafront promenade. The 7 km-long beach of fine sand is about 80 m away from the hotel. There is a small beach area in front of the hotel, reserved only for hotel guests, with free of charge sunbeds and parasols at their disposal.

This new RIU hotel comprises a main building with eleven floors and an annex building with six floors, all set in landscaped garden and large sun terrace. Its 538 bedrooms are equipped with everything any guest could possibly need, including free WiFi throughout the hotel, bathrooms that feature large walk-in showers and a style that uses simple lines and soft tones that are reflected in both the decor and the furniture and result in a sense of freshness and a peaceful and relaxing sea atmosphere.

In its quest to provide a truly memorable experience for every family member, the Riu Astoria has concentrated particularly on children’s entertainment. The ‘RiuLand’ club for boys and girls, as well as the children´s playground and pool (both indoor and outdoor) will delight all youngsters. As far as adults are concerned, they can enjoy both daytime and night-time entertainment options as well as having access to a fully equipped modern gym and indoor pool with integrated jacuzzi. “Sense” spa centre (with additional charge) provides a wide range of treatments, a sauna, a salt room, a steam bath, a hammam and a relaxation area.

One of the other great attractions of the hotel is its culinary offering. The “Astoria” main restaurant serves varied buffet featuring international dishes and live show cooking. The “Stagioni” snack restaurant in the evening converts to serving Italian specialities and the “Tokyo” themed restaurant is offering the best of Asian cuisine. There is also a Lobby Bar, a pool bar with a large terrace and a Lounge Bar called “Fiesta” which stays open until midnight and provides the hotel with night-time entertainment in the form of shows and live music.

The hotel also offers guest parking and a garage as well as a wide range of conference facilities. In addition to being right next to the beach and within easy reach of the airport, the hotel is in the ideal spot for guests to explore some of the most iconic of the country’s landmarks such as the city of Varna, the town and the Botanic Garden of Balchik, Cape Kaliakra and the Aladzha Monastery.
