RIU Hotels & Resorts wins the prestigious British Travel Award

  • The hotel chain has won Best International Upscale Hotel Brand at the considered as the Oscars of the travel industry

RIU Hotels & Resorts has been announced as the winner of Best International Upscale Hotel Brand in the prestigious 2018 British Travel Awards. The announcement was made on the 28th November at a glamorous Gala Awards ceremony, held in London and attended by more than a thousand travel industry professionals, including representatives from all leisure travel genres and companies.

The British Travel Awards is the largest and most influential poll of consumer opinion on the performance of leisure travel and tourism providers. RIU received two awards in 2017 edition of the prize: Best International Upscale Hotel Brand and Best All Inclusive Hotel & Resort.

The awards were collected by Paul Bunce – Head of Market Development for the UK, Ireland and Nordics – who said “We are thrilled to win this award for a second consecutive year which we believe reflects our valued customers continued loyalty to our brand. It is also a tribute to all of our staff who work so hard all year to ensure that our guests have the perfect holiday and I am extremely proud to accept this award on their behalf ”.

The British Travel Awards is a proudly independent organisation, verified by leading global business practitioners - Deloitte. The BTAs are the only travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the consumer and the Awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling consumer.

The British Travel Awards is the largest awards programme in the UK created to reward the best companies in travel. The British Travel Awards are easily the most recognisable of all travel industry accolades amongst consumer and industry professionals alike with categories spanning all types of holiday experience - transport, destination, cruise, customer service, holiday extras, and accommodation.

The British Travel Awards symbol is the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business.

The British Travel Awards are funded by the registration fees and patronage of sponsors who have identified the ROI from increased brand visibility and sales opportunities as the consumer and trade audience grows exponentially year-on-year.
