The Riu Republica expands its amenities with an exclusive water park and four new restaurants

  • The hotel, the first Adults-Only in the Riu Classic range, opened in June 2016 and, given its success, has expanded its offer with 300 additional rooms and three new swimming pools

RIU Hotels & Resorts has expanded the range of amenities of its popular 5-star “Adults-Only“ hotel located on the marvellous Arena Gorda beach in Punta Cana: the Riu Republica. Following its opening a little over a year ago, and seeing how much customers loved it, the chain decided to expand its range of amenities by adding an exclusive water park, “Splash Water World“, with incredible slides, and four new a la carte restaurants, three swimming pools and 300 new rooms.

The big news about this expansion is the new water park “Splash Water World“ with four intrepid slides exclusively for guests of the Riu Republica, making it the second park of this type RIU has in Punta Cana. But the aquatic offer doesn't stop there: after the expansion, the resort has a total of eight marvellous swimming pools, three of them with swim-up bars and one covering 900 square metres. All the pools are surrounded by sun decks with lounge chairs for guests to enjoy the Caribbean sunshine.

One of the strong suits of the new amenities of the Riu Republica is the gastronomic offer. The resort now has a total of ten restaurants: two buffets for breakfast and dinner; the Italian “Tarantella“; the Asian “Kaori“; the steakhouse “Quisqueya“; two “Kulinarium“ fusion eateries; the Spanish restaurant “Olé“, which serves typical dishes from Spanish culture; a new jerk grill open daily in the pool zone; and the “Taj Mahal“, where guests can enjoy the exotic aromas and flavours of Indian cuisine.

The hotel now offers a total of 1,382 modern and elegant rooms, among them 8 suites, 12 two-bedroom family rooms, and 6 rooms that are fully adapted for people with reduced mobility. The other amenities of the Riu Republica include 8 bars (one of them open 24 hours a day), a gym, a steam bath, a jacuzzi, and the Renova Spa wellness centre, which has a beauty and hair salon and massage service.
