TUI Group is the only tourism group to be listed again in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index

  • TUI is listed for the tenth consecutive year in the renowned DJSI
  • High rankings in the categories of climate strategy and corporate citizenship

The TUI Group has been included in the renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Europe for the tenth year in succession. TUI is the only tourism group to have achieved a DJSI listing. It was particularly highly ranked in this year’s corporate sustainability assessment in the categories of climate strategy and corporate citizenship.

We’re convinced that sustainability is becoming an increasingly important issue for tourists. Professional sustainability management and high sustainability standards are therefore indispensable to a clear differentiation from competitors. This orientation on sustainability is firmly anchored in the TUI business strategy and it will continue to play an important role in future. We’ll be stepping up our commitment to ecological, economic and social sustainability as set out in our recently approved Sustainability Strategy 2015-2020,“ said Thomas Ellerbeck, member of the TUI Group Executive Committee with responsibility for the Group’s sustainability programmes.

Background: Following a best-in-class approach, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices measure the performance of the world’s sustainability leaders across all sectors of industry. Each year, companies are selected for the indices based on a comprehensive assessment of numerous sustainability-related criteria. Only the companies that lead their industries based on this assessment are included in the indices. Every year more than 3,400 stock exchange listed companies are invited to have their sustainability performance assessed. The ranking is performed by Swiss investment company RobecoSAM on behalf of Dow Jones. A total of 162 companies were included in DJSI Europe this year.

TUI AG is also listed in the FTSE4Good sustainability index (London Stock Exchange), the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index, the Ethibel Excellence Index and the ECPI Ethical Index €uro.
