Port El Kantaoui/Hanover, 26 June 2015.
TUI GROUP unfortunately has to confirm that today, Friday, an attack was committed in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia, at the beach of the RIU Imperial Marhaba hotel close to the city of  Sousse. According to official information by the relevant authorities, a number of people lost their lives in the attack. For the time being, no reliable evidence exists about whether any TUI customers have been affected. However, we have to presume that this is the case. The nationality of the victims is still unknown. TUI is in constant contact with the authorities and the foreign offices as well as local employees.

The TUI Crisis Management Unit has been activated and has immediately launched all the measures required. Specially trained staff, the so-called TUI Care Team, are currently preparing to leave for their deployment in order to support customers on the site.

The following information applies to Germany:

TUI has launched a toll-free customer hotline under the phone number +49 (0)511 567 8000. Customers having booked a holiday tour to Tunisia for the current summer season may change or cancel their booking free of charge until and including 15 September.
