TUI BLUE continues to grow: Five new hotel openings in year one

TUI Blue, TUI’s new experience hotel brand, only launched in May of this year, kicking off its growth roadmap. With TUI BLUE Fleesensee on the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau, the brand will open its first hotel in Germany today. The TUI subsidiary thus expanded its portfolio to five hotels within less than one year.

At the start of the 2016 summer season, the first two hotels of the brand-new hotel concept opened in Turkey. “Against the backdrop of this year’s geopolitical events, this was certainly a very special situation,” Artur Gerber, Managing Director TUI Blue, commented on the launch of the brand. “I am therefore particularly delighted that we have succeeded in convincing our customers of the new concept in no time at all thanks to the quality and service delivered”. Under the brand claim “Explore the more”, TUI Blue blends the best of a first-class hotel package experience with individual travel. The hallmarks of the hotels are regional architecture, a cutting-edge technology concept and the innovative BLUEf!t concept for fitness, nutrition and wellness.

Survey results have confirmed the positive feedback provided by holidaymakers. The recommendation rate among TUI guests for TUI Blue Sarigerme Park and TUI Blue Palm Garden stood at 99 to 100 per cent throughout the entire first season. Customers also like TUI Blue’s cutting-edge technology approach. Its mainstay is the Blue App, which has meanwhile been downloaded 10,000 times. It is a constant travel companion for our guests during their holiday, as evidenced by a 95 per cent multiple use rate. The most popular functions are the up-to-date overview of local activities on the programme, followed by the A-Z and notice board, facilitating direct exchange with the Blue Guides and other guests. It may be used to make appointments for excursions or sport activities, but the hotel teams are also delighted to answer questions, e.g. related to recipes of dishes served in the restaurant. Since the launch of the brand, the Blue App has also been used to submit 9,700 queries - with customer wishes ranging from an extra cushion via reserving a table at the a-la-carte restaurant all the way to fitness courses or daybeds.

In November, the TUI Blue Jardin Tropical in Tenerife and the TUI Blue Schladming in Austria were added to the portfolio. TUI Blue will continue on its growth path in 2017: In Spring, the first 5-star hotel will follow in Tuscany with Il Castelfalfi – TUI Blue Selection, and from Summer, the (4-star) TUI Blue Jadran will open its doors for guests in Croatia.
