The ClubHotel Riu Vistamar reopens in Gran Canaria after a complete renovation of its facilities

  • Following the renovation, guests will find two new theme restaurants, “Kai“, with Asian food, and a grill specialising in barbecue and Canarian food, in addition to the new Sports Bar
  • The hotel, located on Playa Amadores and with spectacular views of the Atlantic, is also unveiling two swimming pools and new facilities that are perfect for family vacations

RIU Hotels & Resorts reopens its emblematic ClubHotel Riu Vistamar on Playa Amadores, on the south side of Gran Canaria, after a complete renovation of its facilities and amenities. The resort, first opened in 2003, now boasts a fresh, modern look that adds new airy, light-filled spaces thanks to its extraordinary location and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Its new facilities and 24-Hour All-Inclusive service make it the perfect choice for enjoying a family holiday.

Starting on its reopening on 24 November, the ClubHotel Riu Vistamar will be offering its guests 475 completely renovated rooms with contemporary, warm and welcoming furniture, as well as brightly coloured textiles. On the terraces, to improve the views from the rooms even more, the metal railings have been replaced by glass panels. The bathrooms have also been completely updated to replace the bathtubs with walk-in showers for the guests' comfort. Another new feature is the addition of Smart TVs in all the rooms so that guests can enjoy a wider variety of multimedia entertainment, as well as free WiFi throughout the hotel.

When it comes to new amenities integrated in the All-Inclusive concept of RIU Hotels & Resorts, the new Sports Bar stands out. In this new bar, which will offer snacks and aperitifs, guests will also be able to watch any sporting event, any time of day, on huge television screens. In terms of the gastronomic offer, the hotel offers the new Asian restaurant “Kai“, where the interior design and exquisite decoration recall authentic Japanese taverns. In addition, the poolside restaurant, “Sea Breeze“, at night turns into a grill which will alternate barbecued meats and fish with traditional Canarian dishes. Lastly, the main restaurant, “Amadores“, which offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, now has a spacious outdoor terrace with an impressive panoramic view.

As for entertainment, the highlights include two new swimming pools for kids, one with fun slides and the other for babies. Both will be located next to the RiuLand club for children and teens, and the multi-purpose sports area, where they'll be able to play football and volleyball and take part in other activities in the Riu Fit programme. And, the ClubHotel Riu Vistamar has a new gym with large windows that, on clear days, offer unique views of the peak of Teide located on the neighbouring island of Tenerife.
